International award-winning actor, published author, editor-in-chief for ARTist Feature Magazine, graphic designer, and kidney transplant recipient ARTavius Veasey is the epitome of ART and positive representation. Deemed as one of the 2021 LOUD 100 LGBTQ people of color for DBQ magazine and achieving the honor of being a Gold medalist athlete at the Transplant Games of America, he always strives to rise above adversity and lead by example.

ARTavius is grateful for the opportunity to have volunteered and served on boards with many LGBTQ organizations in the city, such as Mid-South Pride, The Paige, Friends of Georges, Friends for Life, OUT Memphis, etc. He continues to work within the community to encourage a betterment for black representation and blaze the trail for the next generation of black LGBTQ+ people.

Standing in his truth and on the shoulders of other black gay men that came before him, he understands the importance of his role in the community, the power of transparency, and the influence he brings to the table. He showcases his version of a positive perspective on what black and gay look like, create opportunities and safe spaces for mentorship, and illustrates a common ground where LGBTQ and non-LGBTQ people could coexist and work together.
